Versailles Palace Bike Tour with Market & Marie-Antoinette hamlet

1.Versailles Palace Bike Tour with Market & Marie-Antoinette hamlet

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 2,680 reviews · 8 hours (approx.) · from $131Our pick

Spend about eight hours traveling from Paris to Versailles by train, shopping at the Notre-Dame Market, and cycling through the royal grounds. Guides such as Arnaud, Lena, Guillaume, and Michael lead the outdoor portion, including Marie-Antoinette’s Hamlet, the Trianons, and a Grand Canal picnic. Timed palace entry follows, with free time inside.

“This was a PERFECT day! We visited the market in Versailles to prepare for our picnic. The bikes came with water-proof saddlebags and protected our provisions from the rain quite well. Our tour guide, Arnold, took us all around the grounds and shared stories and history with us all along the way. He was friendly and funny, and whether with the group extremely well. We absolutely loved riding our bikes through the property, enjoyed a picnic of bread, fruit, and wine outside of the summer palace, and were amazed by the grandeur of the palace! Truly a wonderful experience.”

“Wow! The opulence of Versailles did not disappoint, and our tour guide, Andrea, did a fantastic job bringing history alive. I did not do any pre-trip history reading, and really know nothing about French history, but it didn’t matter. Andrea was clear, concise, and very humorous and engaging. The biking portions of the tour were not physically demanding at all. I felt like I barely had to pedal through majority of the trip; there was one moderate hill, which Andrea prepared us for ahead of time, and he offered many suggestions such as getting off one’s bike and walking up the hill, and he did it with much care and…”
